Our chestnuts ripen in late October and are the freshest chestnuts you can buy for the Holidays. Our chestnuts are very sweet because they are grown in the cool climate of Northern Michigan.
Our family and friends pick up every chestnut. No machine marks. No dull appearance. Our chestnuts are large and from grafted cultivars known worldwide for quality.
We are outside of the range of nearly every chestnut pest. Your nuts will never have weevils, and your nuts will not be treated with heat or chemicals.
Ten years have passed since we planted our first chestnut trees at Ox Heights! Thanks to all those who helped along the way and have enjoyed our chestnuts!
We are wrapping up our peach harvest today and just are finishing our hazelnut harvest. In total, we harvested about 70 bushels of peaches of 5 bushels of hazelnuts! Thanks to all those who came out and enjoyed our peaches.
The chestnut crop continues to look impressive, and the branches are looking very heavy! If you are interested in helping harvest during October, please reach out to oxheights@gmail.com
Take care and have a good week!

Ox Heights Farm integrates family, trees, and animals in a farm ecosystem (Silvopasture). We produce chestnuts, hazelnuts, English walnuts, peaches, lamb and maple syrup.

Our family planted 9 Chestnut trees in 2016. Now we have 1,000 grafted European Chestnut trees. Our family has grown up in the orchard helping to care for our chestnut trees. Our family now picks up the nuts and ships them directly to you.

We starting this Northern Michigan chestnut dream as an experiment and you can see our journey since 2018 on the Ox Heights Family Farm Blog. Explore our other crops and how we integrate sheep and interplanting to optimize our acreage and grow better food.
