Tree Ripened Peaches

Close-up of ripe peaches on a tree branch with green leaves.

Northern Michigan grown fresh juicy sun-ripened peaches

The 2026 crop is still going strong! We should have fresh peaches until September 15th! We grow a variety of Northern Michigan peaches, including Reliance, Red Haven, Blazing Star, Glow Haven, Loring, and Sweet Star. These multiple varieties extend the harvest season over 5 weeks, allowing you to enjoy tree-ripened peaches from early August to middle September at Ox Heights orchard.

Tree Ripened Peaches from Ox Heights

    Pure Maple Syrup

    Sugar Maple Trees

    Sugar Maple Trees

We tap the sap from sugar maple trees on the edge of our orchards and roads. These maple trees have direct sunlight, large canopies, and are over 100 years old, allowing us to produce high-quality maple syrup.

    Efficiency

    Sugar Maple Trees

To reduce the amount of energy required to convert sap from sugar maple trees into maple syrup (40 gallons of sap is needed to make a gallon of syrup), we use a home constructed reverse osmosis (RO) system to concentrate the sugar in the sap.

    Sweet heat and humidity

After removing water from the sap using the RO, only 10 gallons of concentrated sap from sugar maple trees is needed to produce a gallon of maple syrup. The wood stove that heats our home can accomplish the evaporation - providing heat and humidity and a touch of sweetness.

    Syrup Available Year Round

Chestnuts and pure maple syrup are a perfect match! We maintain a small and sustainable operation, producing about 15 gallons of maple syrup each year from our sugar maple trees.

    Pasture Raised Lamb

    The Flock:

We offer fresh lamb cuts that are USDA packaged and available year-round for pickup throughout northern Michigan! You also have the option to order lamb online, whether you want an entire lamb or prefer to pick one up directly from our farm.

Our flock of 20 ewes is primarily Dorper, a breed specifically bred to excel on pasture. From these 20 ewes, we confidently provide 40 high-quality grass-fed lambs to our patrons annually.

The sheep are 100% grass-fed, and we practice intensive grazing during the growing season, moving the ewes and lambs to fresh pasture daily. This method drastically reduces our need to use de-wormers and results in lambs that have had minimal to no treatments.

Our lambs are born in April and are ready for processing in October when they reach 75-100 lbs. They spend their entire lives on pasture, cycling nutrients with much of our spring and early summer grazing occurring between the rows of our chestnut trees.

Our lambs are processed and packaged by RRR in Buckley, MI, a USDA-approved facility. If you choose to order an entire lamb, we will work directly with RRR to specify exactly how you'd like your lamb processed and packaged.
